Free-Style travel is the method I strongly advocate when at all possible. Even when on a guided tour it may be possible to steal away for a time to explore aspects of German life that are not significant enough to be on a guided tour's itinerary. These sidelights are to me a treasure that brightens any memory album that may result from such a trip, but require independence in order to capture them on film.

Even if totally constrained by the tight schedule of a guided tour that provides little or no free time, look around as you are being escorted from point to point. You can look, and you can see. Try to train your senses to see the little things that round out the picture you will take home of life in Germany. These photos on this page need no explanation. They provide color and interest.
