This city has special meaning to me as it started me on a decades long interest in the castles of Germany while serving there with the army. The city is one of the few to be spared serious damage in the war. Its cultural, architectural, religious and ancient heritage are richly preserved and it holds a special place in Germany's medieval history as an important bishopric.
